Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution (known as ADR) is the possibility that all consumers have at their disposal to resort to official entities that help them resolve or guide them in any consumer conflict before filing lawsuits in court.

Various independent entities are available, with specialized and impartial personnel, to help the consumer and the company/professional reach an amicable solution through mediation or conciliation.

If an agreement is not reached, it is still possible to resort to the arbitral tribunal through a simple and fast process, which is usually free of charge. The arbitral sentence has executive force (mandatory character), being equivalent to a decision of a first instance court.

The list and contacts of these entities are published by the European Commission on the Consumer Portal available here (link to https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/main/index.cfm?event=main.home2.show&lng=EN)
